Happy 80th Birthday Jerry Garcia!
Jerry Week SF 2022
Celebrate the 1st Annual Jerry Garcia Week in the Haight Ashbury!
August 8th-August 14th.
This year would be Jerry Garcia’s 80th Birthday!
To commemorate such a Special Occasion the neighborhood of the Haight Ashbury is putting together a week long tribute to
Jerry Garcia & the Grateful Dead!
Throughout the first ever San Francisco Jerry Garcia Week ~ August 8th-14th, participating merchants of the Haight Ashbury Corridor will be showcasing Grateful Dead & Jerry Garcia Art in a neighborhood Art Walk in their windows and storefronts.
Stories of how Jerry Garcia & the Grateful Dead influenced the neighborhood and community will be hung in store windows and metal Stealie Stickers will be hidden in certain stores for an out of the box Scavenger hunt with gifts and discounts from participating merchants.
This Historical Retrospective of Jerry Garcia in the Haight Ashbury will coincide with activities that the city of San Francisco has planned throughout the week to celebrate the life of Jerry Garcia.
When people think of San Francisco, they think of the Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 39 and the Summer of Love at the corner of Haight and Ashbury.
The merchants of the Haight Ashbury consider it an honor to celebrate the life of a man who helped put Haight Ashbury on the map as one of the most historic corners of the world.
“His job is to Shed Light, not to Master…”
